A-ha!!

A-ha!!

I finally have my blog working!!

So...I guess you all saw my other...ahem..."blog entry." I don't even know how I did that. I'm allergic to computers...

Anyway, since you have all seen my flowers, I have picked another image. This will be a little harder to figure out.

  1. the image appears to be floating in space and could possibly be a replica of a larger image. the photographer made the decision to center the image as well as take a photo of the replica instead of the actual image.

  2. True, true...
But the reason why I picked this image was because of its subject!! Analyze the statue and not the solid black background.

  3. Ah, but the background is important when relating to the piece. The person who composed this image, too, wanted us to concentrate on the central image. Perhaps it is from an art book, or an archive from a museum? They wanted us to consider the sculpture rather than it's providence. According to the composer, it isn't important for the viewers to see the sculpture in its original resting place, or even a suggestion thereof.

My mind relates the picture to sculptures of Kanon. In particular, sculptures made by the Kakurekurishitans, or the hidden Christans. What a better way to hide a sculpture of the mother and child by sculpting them as Kanon holding a baby?
